Betting summary for the season - 0

The big matches keep on coming and the season is starting to shape out like it could be one of the most memorable in history, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City looking destined to compete for the title right up to end of the season.

The pressure is starting to tell for some managers and this weekend’s clash between Manchester United and Tottenham could see one of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer or Nuno Espírito Santo potentially facing the exit door with a defeat.

Week nine bought all of its usual drama that we associate with the Premier League which was headlined by Liverpool’s emphatic 5-0 victory away at Manchester United, a result that is still sending reverberations around the league almost a week later. Elsewhere there were wins for Arsenal, Watford, Chelsea, Man City, West Ham and Leicester. The points were shared between Crystal Palace and Newcastle, Leeds and Wolves and Southampton and Burnley.

Week 10 is headlined by the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but all teams will be looking for a vital three points as the next international break looms large.

Leicester vs Arsenal

Burnley vs Brentford

Liverpool vs Brighton

Man City vs Crystal Palace

Newcastle vs Chelsea

Watford vs Southampton

Spurs vs Man Utd

Norwich vs Leeds

Aston Villa vs West Ham

Wolves vs Everton

PICK 1: Watford to beat Southampton - 11/5

A bet that could add value to any weekend   treble could be the inclusion of Watford who are creeping towards 3/1 to beat Southampton at home.

Football is a funny old game as two weeks away Claudio Ranieri’s new charges were being dismantled by Liverpool and it looked like both he and his Watford team had a battle ahead of them, fast forward a week and with 70 minutes on the clock Watford looked like they were going to experience another defeat to Merseyside opposition as they were 2-1 down to Everton. Flip to the end of the game and the Hornets proved they had a sting in the tail, scoring four goals in 12 mad second half minutes to emerge as 5-2 victors, with Josh King scoring an impressive hat-trick.

Watford at home this season have struggled, winning one, losing two and drawing one. However, this weekend they come up against a Southampton side who have struggled on their travels and are yet to record a victory on the road.

This is a trappy game but I think Watford are a big price considering the confidence and momentum they carry into this fixture. 11/5 is just a price too big to ignore considering Southampton’s rocky away form.

PICK 2: Leeds to beat Norwich - 11/10

Our second pick is between two of the leagues bottom sides as winless Norwich welcome Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds.

Norwich find themselves stranded at the bottom of the league with just two points returned from their first 9 league games. Leeds sit just outside the relegation zone in 17th with seven points in total.

Unlike their last adventure in the Premier League, the pressure is on Norwich and boss Daniel Farke. Fans and pundits are expecting more from his side and for the fans of the club they are tired off yo-yoing through the divisions.

Calls for a managerial change intensified following the Canaries 7-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea and a defeat against a team situated near them in the table could spell trouble.

Norwich have conceded a league high 23 goals and against a Leeds side who have goals in their side, this could be another long afternoon for Norwich.

Leeds haven’t yet got near the heights of last season, and despite still playing a wonderful brand of football, their defence is causing them all sorts of problems. Only Norwich and Newcastle have conceded more than Leeds and if they are to climb up the table that has to change.

Leeds have only picked up two points on their travels but against a Norwich side that looks lost and devoid of confidence this is a huge opportunity for Leeds to gain a priceless three points here.

PICK 3: Wolves to beat Everton

Wolves could be playing Everton at the right time. Wolves steady climb up the table continued last week, with a point away to Leeds, but in all reality it should have been three, with Leeds only denying the men from the Midlands in the dying seconds of the game.

Last weeks draw made it four unbeaten in the league for Bruno Large’s men and they seem to have hit their stride.

Everton come into this match without a win in their last three following a draw against Man Utd and defeats against West Ham and Watford. The nature of Everton’s capitulation against Watford has to be of some real concern to Rafa Benitez  whose side just look like they can’t stop conceding goals. The Toffees have just kept two clean sheets all season and they will need to tighten up at the back if they are to secure a European place. They sorely miss the presence of striker Dominic Calvert Lewin who is still a few weeks away from returning.

This looks like a tough game for Everton who will try to be hard to beat but might have a tough task of keeping a hungry Wolves team at bay.

A treble of Watford, Leeds and Wolves all to win pays approx 13/1.
