🇦🇺 SWAN HILL FRIDAY 🐎

💎 RACE 4- ELVESTROEM CLASSIC. 2YO'S.

💥# QUINELLA - #1 KING CONSORT & #10 QUANG TRI.

#1 KINGS CONSORT ($2.6) is the class in the race.. No doubt..

BUT he does have to anchor a significant more amount of weight, to what I class as his main threat, the filly #10 QUANG TRI down in the weights.

KINGS CONSORT is a late blooming 2YO who I sense is still on an upward spiral...!?

He steam rolled them at big odds two back in a $1M race at Caulfield, which I think even surprised the stable as they seemed to certainly not have him screwed down for that race and there was no market support for him..

He then got a mile out of his ground in the G3 SIRES PRODUCE in Adelaide where it was near impossible to make ground on the day, yet he still recorded the best closing splits of the race...... He ran very well.

I'm sure this race isn't an after thought for this horse and if anything, he just may of come on again for this......??? If so, he will take a power of holding out.... Even with his big weight.

#10 QUANG TRI was very good last start behind a smart  young 2YO called 'Bank Maur' who I think has a bright future in the next 12-18 months.....

The big open spaces of this track will work right into her hands this filly, along with having a 4.5kg weight swing on KINGS CONSORT...

I'd be surprised if either one of the two didn't win this, but there's no value to be shopped with either runners..

🇦🇺 SANDOWN SATURDAY 🐎

💎 RACE 1- 2YO'S. 1000m.

💥#4 EROS win ($2.7)

This well bred colt EROS should of taken plenty of fitness and benefit from his good first up run two weeks back.

He had been jumping out very well prior to that first up run and at the 200m, you really couldnt have enough on him, when he looked all over a winner before WINNING REVOLUTION outbobbed him late when headed at the 100m.

That horse had a fitness edge and already had a run under his belt prior though, so I'm happy to think EROS can turn the tables on him here with natural improvement/fitness on his side this time.

The booking of a more aggressive hoop in the irons this time in Mark Zahra  is also a key booking/bonus for mine and while he's no real value market wise, he's the one to beat in this.

💎 RACE 2- 1000m. Open.

💥#6 THE GAUCH ew ($4)

💥#3 ASHFORD STREET ($3.6)

Found it hard to split THE GAUCH and ASHFORD STREET here...

#6 THE GAUCH has been jumping out particularly well leading into this and let's be honest, he's just an honest little bugger who puts in each and everytime he goes to the races!

He's a little  beauty and you'd love a stable full of horses just like him!

He's also 2/2 from two at this track, 2/3 first up and with the luxury of only having to carry 54kgs on his back from a nice middle gate, where he should get a gun run,  he's gunna let loose and look the winner at some stage in the straight here I have no doubt!

#3 ASHFORD STREET is equally as honest and  in career best form and flying this time in... It's impossible to dismiss him while in this mood.

He made a mess of a similiar lot last start this horse and while he does have to carry 3kgs more this time, he draws a soft gate in 3 and should get a gun run.

I'd say the game plan will be to sit handy, 2nd/3rd- stalking the likely leader,  STARRY LEGEND (who's a speedy cat!) and be ready to pounce inside the last 200m of the race....

It's very hard to not see him right in the finish again here...!!!

Right, that's enough about the "honest" horses, let's talk about there polar opposites in the race.

#1 RANTING is a dead set pest.

Yes, yes, of course his best efforts make him a winning chance, but leave me out of him.... He picks and chooses when to put in this bloke .

He also had his Xmas two starts back, so I'm happy to wait for another 20 starts before he blows us all out of the Quad again! 😨

While we are on the topic of underachieving/yet talented non winners, #2 WILLIAM THOMAS ($61) lines up again, and  surprisingly gets the blinkers for the first time at his 37th career start 😳..... ???

Much like his good mate RANTING, If he happened to steam roll them down the outside and blow em all out at 60's,  it wouldn't totally shock either......?? 😨....

But, going off his last couple of runs,  not even Trent Bussetin would declare him if he trained him would he!??........👀   Mind you,  he'd declare Promite over Vegemite that bloke 👀😂

💎 RACE 7- 1600M, B78.

💥#3 VISINARI win ($2.8)

💥#13 GOOD AND PROPER ew($23)

VISINARI had to do it the tough way last start and was very gallant.

He was trapped wide throughout last time from a wide gate and did a huge job to still be right there at the 100m before  getting overhauled by SIR DAVY (flying, who had gun run, drop on him) late!

While he draws horribly again here in 15, there looks less early pace in the race this time, and I think they will make there intentions clear very early to lead at all costs with him.

He's a big free striding grey who does his best racing when bowling along out front at his own pace. He's just not a sit/sprint type horse...

If he manages  to find the front here and dictate, hel take some catching and the one they will all have to run down!

#13 GOOD AND PROPER ($23) is the knock out hope at big odds here down in grade and I want to be on him each way in this, more so on the place line...

He was good first up over an unsuitable trip in stronger company than this.   He's run was much better than it reads on paper and he would of benefited greatly from that pipe opener.

He's also a much better horse out to this kind of trip, where he's also 1/1 at the track and a winner 2nd up...

Clearly the draw isn't ideal, but if the kid (J.Opperman - who can ride the boy) rides him for luck, this horse is more than capable of letting loose with a big finale back in this grade and sprinting over the lot of them at a big price!!

#5 KIPPS ($7) was also very good at his Aussie debut, flashing home with a red light on his head! ....

BUT..... Be wary punters.....  This race is harder than what he contested first up and I'm not sure that form from that race-  'Lyrical Lad' (failed since), 'Hezashocka' (fair horse)  is the right /strong form for a race of this nature... ???

(Reluctant to doubt the stables placement tho?! Especially there imports on the fresh side still, but nevertheless, he's unders for mine)

💎 RACE 8- 1300M - B84.

💥#9 PRINCE OF HELENA ew ($15)

💥#11 SIG POSITANO ew ($4.6)

Happy to have a dabble at a nice outsider here in #9 PRINCE OF HELENA at big odds each way in this.

With so much attention on  the 3YO, JIGSAW who's won his past two and draws favorobly in gate 1, along with the addition of some interesting imports from strong stables, I think the corps may have missed/underated the country trained #9 PRINCE OF HELENA winning chances....

I certainly beg to differ regarding his chances and $15 is gross overs in my view....

He's a very very capable horse this bloke, especially when fresh up!!!!

He has never missed a place in 5 first up attempts this horse and some of them have been exceptional against decent quality.

First up last campaign, over 1400m he was desperately unlucky when flashing home for an unlucky 2nd behind Intellective, while sprinting past Kentucky Casanova (who was airborne and highly touted at the time)......

He then backed that up with a good run 2nd up in the 500k Country Series Final at Flemington, where he was never closer than 4-5 wide the trip throughout punching the breeze....

Yet only beaten just over 4 lens....... It was a big big run all considering!!! 👀

Throw in the likelihood of very good pace on up front in this, with the likes of SIR KALAHAD, JIGSAW and DO YA RECKON (barrier 13) likeky to set a good tempo early, Jake Duffy from gate 6,  should be able to end up 3 or 4 pairs back with cover on PRINCE OF HELENA doing no work in the run off a solid tempo and get his chance late to reel them in with big strides/fresh legs!!...

#11 SIG POSITANO is always a threat in these type of races and also draws a lovely gate to get a simliar run to PRINCE OF HELENA.

Big "Siggy "  will also be praying for a very steady tempo on up front early that he can launch home off late.

While he is absolutely flying this time in, he still has a sack full of tricks and is  highly erratic and an unreliable betting proposition to be honest.

Unfortunately he's his own worse enemy this bloke, with his biggest flaw, being a somewhat, constant flat spot he always  hits in his races, generally 300-400m or so out, before switching legs and letting down with his customary big finales!!!

He will most likely look no hope for the majority of the straight, but he does possess a turn of foot in his artillery that can catapult him, back into winning contention within a blink of an eye when he's in the mood!??

So for all you die hards looking to blast out on a massive risk horse, that could sprout wings from the clouds and nose them out late, big SiG POSITANO is your man! 😂

BUT.... BUT.... BUT......  Don't underestimate the "Prince" at even  bigger odds spoiling his party 😈💥 Haha...
