🇦🇺SANDOWN WEDNESDAY 🐎
#JIGRACING #SANDOWN #WEDNESDAY #XMASMIDWEEKS #HOHOHO 🥷👊
️RACE 1- 1500m, MDN 🥷
⭐#13 FRETTA ew ($3.9)
⭐#1 CHOQUANT ew ($4.2)
⭐#9 CORTES ew ($7)
⭐#12 OCEANIQUE ($5.5)
I like what this daughter of Frankel #13 FRETTA ($3.9) did over the concluding stages of her most recent jump out over 1200m at Cranbourne.
The 1500m kick off point for her looks ideal. She looks a filly that will stretch out over 2000m + in time.
She draws barrier 1, gets onto a nice spacious track, where she won't have to get too far back in the run.
She also finds a very winnable maiden with a lot of these 'flattered' to even be running in a mid week city event.
Providing Kah (who's allergic to the fence) can bide her time and navigate her into clear air at the right time, she will be very strong late and hard to hold out..
She looks a very good each way play in this.
#1 CHOQUANT ($4.2) has been backed in early markets and respecting that money... It was an interesting run/ride last start 🧐
#9 CORTES ($7) has been good in his two career starts so far bumping into a couple of handy off season gallopers on both occasions.
1500m poses no concerns and he should be rock hard fit here 3rd up. (3rd run in 5weeks- you'd hope they back off him after this? It is his first campaign)
He's the logical danger and saver in the race, providing they haven't cooked him.? (Ranting- Heard of him?)
#12 OCEANIQUE ($5.5) was good on debut, but it's yet to be determined whether the form from that race will stand up!??? The juries out....?
A 200-1 shot did run 3rd in the race (Skinny Dip) who is fair at very best..!??
The 4th horse in the race 'Permutation' (who's not hopeless, but a non-winner) then got beaten in a softish race at his subsequent start...

☯️ RACE 2- 3YO- 1200m
⭐#3 CRAFT STAR ew ($7.5)
⭐#1 ALWAYS A SAINT ew ($7.5)
⭐#9 SASSY ANNA ($7.5)
⭐#10 SHANGHAI VENTURE ($4.6)
HOT mid week city Maiden this one. There are at least 4-5 legimate winning hopes in this. Or at least 4-5 that I'll want to be following going forward.
There will be no surprise to see multiple runners from this go onto better things and it's a maiden that I believe will be a strong form reference in the weeks to come.
#3 CRAFT STAR ($9.5) has looked very sharp at the jump outs.
He's shown a sharp turn of foot in his work and being by StarCraft you can only expect him to be even better when he gets out over 1600m +...
His Dam (Bartonelle) was also a talented race mare, who was a winner over sprint trips in town at B80+ level throughout her career. (so she was no mug).
#1 ALWAYS A SAINT ($7.5) has also jumped out well and hails from a stable that rarely leave much in the tank other than there first up runs.
He will be well and truly screwed down for this- (4 x Jump outs) and what you see here on debut, is likely as good as it gets!
#9 SASSY ANNA ($8.5) is also a nice filly first up for the Hawkes camp.
She was good on debut back in July when 2nd to the talented 'Shalaman' and her most recent jump out at Flemington was nice strong work. She's a definite Top 4 player in this.
Throw in horses like #10 SHANGHAI VENTURE ($7- racing very well)
#2 AWOL - ($12)- Maher debutante who's jumped out well.
A very nice maiden that's likely to provide multiple future winners in the weeks to come.

☯️ RACE 4- BM 70, 2100m🥷
⭐#2 DUBLIN JOURNAL ew ($6.5)
⭐#1 TRADUCE ew ($20
Not one to usually rush into these midweek staying events, they are flaunt with danger generally as a rule...
With that being said, I think there's two runners here that create some interest and look to have come up over the odds in this.
#1 TRADUCE ($20) was just spun around for 'shits n giggles' last time in a BM-84 over 1800m.
While he was well beaten by 9.4lens and ran 11th of 14, I did like what he did through and past the line, when it was all over. He was only getting warm past the post..
He also drops dramatically down in grade, he gets in nicely with a capable 2kg claimer and they step up too 2100m this time, against what can only be described as a very average lot/bunch of future hurdlers.
($20) looks gross overs in early markets about him and he's certainly worth specking on an each way line.
#2 DUBLIN JOURNAL ($6.5) is the other import in the race and been well backed in this. He's now 3rd up and looking for this trip.
He hasn't been spun around with much intent at his first two runs this prep, but up too 2100m, from marble #1, he looks ready to peak.
He should do no work in the run here, have no excuses and his D-Day has arrived.

☯️ RACE 5- 3YF, B64-1400m🥷
⭐#3 HOOPS ew ($7.5)
⭐#5 DANCETHENIGHTAWAY ew ($5.5)
Liked the recent jump out of the Danny O'Brien trained filly- #3 HOOPS ($7.5) @ Flemington recently.
She ran 3rd in that heat under lock and key behind 'Bel Air' who then was narrowly beaten in town first up in a stronger race than this.
It's was a jump out where we can get a good line on where she is at.
She's a filly who has showed more than enough ability in her 4 career starts so far, including winning here fresh up last campaign over 1300m.
She looks gross overs in early markets for mine at nearly 8-1 on offer.
#5 DANCETHENIGHTAWAY ($5.5) was good on debut. It's never easy jumping from MDN grade to B64 grade, but she certainly looked good on pace over 1460m and looks to have good upside and ready for a race of this nature.
She beat 'Barefoot Tora' on debut and that horse had run well at her previous start, when 3rd to 'Girl' who subsequently ran well in a strong race in town, so the form looks to stack up well enough for a race of this nature.

☯️ RACE 6- B64, 1400m🥷
⭐#2 MARCOLT ew ($20)
⭐#4 PLACE OF GOLD ew ($3.7)
⭐#10 CRIMMO ew ($4.8)
⭐#11 GABSTAR ew ($12)
Few chances in this. Have settled on a couple worth backing each way, with one in particular well over the odds for mine.
#2 MARCOLT ($20) just about had his kneck put out of place in his most recent jump out, when they were clearly trying to hide him. He looked to have plenty in habd, had the breaks been released.!?
He's a good fresh horse this bloke, with all of his best runs coming either 1st or 2nd up in his campaigns.
With 4x jump outs under his belt leading into this, I'd be expecting a big run from him first up from this stable here at odds!!
#10 CRIMMO ($5.5)) was impressive on debut and is yet another promising 3YO type from the Moroney stable who have unearthed a few in the past 2 months.
While it's always hard to go from a Maiden and win a B64 (particularly in town), this stable certainly know which ones are capable of doing so and there was a lot to like about his win.
#4 PLACE OF GOLD ($3.7) was ridden like a dog last start - (He got way too far out of his ground) and is also trained by a Dog.
His best efforts are good enough, but maybe, just maybe they should of taken the big $$$ that were put on the table for this horse prior to his debut to be shipped off to Honkers!?? 🤔..
(Now he's a 4Y0 who's had 9 starts for 1x win.. Well played 👏👏)..
#11 GABSTAR ($12) draws gate 1, but Is a better horse ridden off the pace. Dismiss last run, he can figure here.

☯️ RACE 7- B64, 1300m Mares 🥷
⭐#5 CANTINA ***ew ($12)
⭐#4 A PENNY SPENT ew ($11)
⭐#14 MIANADO ew ($17)
Pretty keen on a couple of mares here at big odds.
#5 CANTINA ($12) contested a very strong $175K race last start, won by the smart 'Brayden Star' over 1500m.
1500m is too far for this mare. The drop back to 1300m with that run under her belt, would of not only brought her on- But is ideal.
She has also jumped out very nicely since, where she was well hidden, trucking up nicely to run 6th in a hot heat for the morning that was won by a smart one in 'INUNDATION' ... She looked to have plenty in hand! 🧐
Her career best runs have also come when 2nd and 3rd up and she finds a very winnable race here to strike at a good each way price.
She's a very honest and consistent mare this one and I think this is the easiest race she has also contested in some time.
I'd expect that current $12 on offer to trim right up come jump time.
#4 A PENNY SPENT ($11) is the other mare that looks over the odds in this and I want to be backing her each way as well.. She's flying this time in!
She bolted in first up, then followed that up with two very nice runs before knocking off 'Victory Bay' last start at TRARALAGON.
Victory Bay was then narrowly beaten at Flemington in a much stronger B70 on Saturday in a photo finish by 'He's Exceptional' who's in very good form.
All while beating home horses like Corona Lad, Drop The Mic, Jenniferwish & Micro who would ALL start favorite or look very hard to beat in a race like this at B64 level at the midweeks.
While she will have to overcome a sticky draw in gate 12 this time, she's in career best form and it'd be silly to ignore her while in this mood! She can win!
#14 MIANADO ($17) is the other horse in the race that has some claims. She was just building revvs last start, when she was stopped in her tracks at a crucial time at the 150m mark. She may have won?
Lonsdaleite who ran 2nd in that race, was then a good thing licked at his next start and the 3rd horse 'Rosalia' was then narrowly beaten at Bendigo, before going onto only be beaten 3.8lens in a much stronger race at Flemington last Saturday.
The form has stood up well from her luckless 5th last start.

☯️ RACE 8- B64, 1200m🥷
⭐#1 D'JUMBUCK*** ew ($7.5)
Pretty keen on #1 D'JUMBUCK ($7.5) here to possibly cap off a huge day for the McGrath stable.
Back in grade, first up and Blake Shinn in the irons are ALL positive signs he's ready.
Yes- He's has to carry the grandstand (62.5kgs) but he's just so honest this horse and I've loved his recent jump outs, where he has looked like he is coiled up and ready to explode first up!!! 🧐
It'll be a herculian effort if he is able to do it, but I think back in grade, with a compressed weight scale, soft gate (4) and Shinn in the saddle, if a horse was capable of doing it, it'll be this bloke!!
He's been highly underated his entire career this horse and only two starts back, he was a winner @ B70 at this track and distance, 2nd up, after running a blinder first up!
He's never missed a podium finish over this track and distance from 3 goes and he presents great each way value for us too blast out on in the last!!
