Found it hard to split a pair of runners in this.
#2 CHATRES ($4.6) draws terribly in 10 and gets to an uproven trip over 1600m for the 2nd time... Their the two negatives with him.
The positives are that he looks much more prepared to tackle the 1600m this time in. His first up run behind two smart ones (Finance Tycoon & Generation) was excellent.
His last start 4th over 1400m behind the 'flying' GUNDEC was also very good, when caught in the slow lanes at Bendigo and still held his ground. He's going very well and can win.
#9 DON DIEGO ($3.6) is a real talent. He's 3rd up here, ready to peak and I doubt the 1600m will pull him up.
He was outstanding first up at Pakenham and then again, 2nd up made very good ground when 2nd behind a fit and inform Vasmee, who can be awfully hard to run down when he gets his own way in front.
$1,000,000 race for the 2YO's.
Really keen on #1 BELLO BEAU ($2.5) in this. He was a tragedy beaten the "Tassie" horse at his Victorian debut.
I'd say Brendan McCoull might have swim back to the apple isle if he butchers him twice in a row in a $1M race with his name on it. (He should of bolted in last start)
He's a very nice horse this bloke and with even luck (Half a steer), I think he blows these away.
#2 SIR BAILEY ($5) is a classy colt and looks well suited away from Caulfield. From an ideal gate (4), he should get all the favors in running and should be right in the finish.
#5 DONT CHANGE ($11) had shown well above average ability at the jump outs prior to his debut. He was very poorly ridden on debut.
He was very well fancied on that occasion also and for him to get as close as he did in the end, was a huge run, considering the ground he covered with no favors throughout..
He's good each way value at the $11 and I can see that price trimming right up race day.

#12 SWATS THAT ($2.9) is weighted to win here (55kgs) and gets her chance.
She's forever the bridesmaid this horse, but let's not forget the quality of stock she quite often takes on..
She was terrific first up in the G1 Lightning behind Home Affairs & Nature Strip, when finishing only 1.7 lens off them. (While carrying 1kg more than Home Affairs)
She was then very good in the G1 Newmarket 2nd up, beaten only 2lens.
While she has an affinity with the Flemington straight, she is (1 from 1) here at Caulfield and she gets in so well at the weights considering horses/main threats like #2 SHELBY SIXTYSIX ($7) & #1 THE ASTROLOGIST ($4.6) have to anchor 60kgs.
From Gate 3, Ollie will be able to get a lovely run just behind the speed, cuddle her up, then navigate a gap on turning and let her use her electric turn of foot.
Her jump outs leading into this have been excellent and she's the clear one, they ALL have to beat.
#2 SHELBY SIXTYSIX ($7) is a beauty and taken the Sydney autumn carnival by storm. He's just soooooo tough this bloke and by all reports, he's jumping out of his skin!! Any rain a bonus for him come race day, clearly.
Tough/Even race, but I'm happy to side with a couple of old enigmas each way in this in #3 JUNIPAL ($3.9) & #1 SO SI BON ($8).
#3 JUNIPAL, comes into this 3rd up, fit and out to his best distance of 1600m, where he's a 4 x winner. He also races very well at this track.
His first up run this preparation, indicated that he has come back well this preparation and I'm happy to forgive his 2nd up performance..
He peaks here and this is easier than what he's been contesting.
#1 SO SI BON, is without stating the bleeding obvious- "Hard to Catch" 😳😆...
BUT... I think he's come back in good form this preparation and he runs for Mark Zahra. (Only bloke whos worked him out).
He's a 3x Track/Distance winner here at Caulfield and the 60kgs won't stop him.... (He's twisted mind might though 😆)
#6 UMGAWA ($8- Good form) and the two very well weighted girls in #11 LE CHAVELEE ($4.8- 55kgs) and #12 ADELE AMOUR ($6- Only 3YO filly in the race- 53kgs) have legimate winning chances in the race also.
#9 EXTREME WARRIOR ($2.2) looks the clear class in this and is extremely well weighted with only 54kgs.
Two starts back he flogged horses like Profiteer & Minsk Moment by 3.5lens at Group 3 level/this track.
He then went onto start favorite in the best 3YO sprint in the country (G1 Coolmore @ Flemington) where clearly, not all was right with the horse on that occasion.
He has jumped out smartly in return for this and while, he would have bigger targets in mind, he will be screwed down well enough to knock these off first up.. He really should win.
#12 CURRAN ($11) & #2 GENERAL BEAU ($8.5) are the dangers/value in the race and I expect both to be right in the finish..
CURRAN has been jumping out very well in readiness for this and GENERAL BEAU ran a career best last time when 3rd to September Run in the G1 William Reid. (That's very good form!!)
Keen on a couple of 'The Boys in Blue' - GOLDOLPHIN runners in Adelaide on Saturday.
#1 TREKKING ($3.2) is an old warrior that continues to come back, prep after prep and mixing it well with the best sprinters in the land.
He looks extremely well suited here from gate 3, after running a huge race last start in the G1 William Reid stakes, when arguably unlucky not to finish much much closer!!! 😳
His jump out since at Flemington was outstanding from the old boy and he looks to be going as well as ever this time in.!!.
The dangers in the race for mine are the two mares in the race, #6 INSTANT CELEBRITY ($4) & #7 BELLA VELLA ($7) who have both been very impressive at the jump outs in prep for this.

Two starts back he won the Gosford Guineas beating smart horses like Authentic Jewel & King Of Sparta.
Then first up this campaign, he ran a slashing 2nd behind star 3YO Mazu in the Darby Munro.
Mazu then went on too thrash them in $1M, G2 Arrowfield sprint at his next start beating gun 3YO's like In The Congo & Paulele.
It's Extremely good form for a race of this nature and if his recent jump out at Flemington is any indication of how he's going, it'll take a pretty smart one to knock him off!!!?
#6 MAGIC MAX ($8) is the danger in the race. He was the "Sickest of beats" last start at Caulfield. He should of bolted in!! 😐...
No surprises to see a jockey change here and he's a key Top 2 player in this.
