🟩 RACE 2, 2YO Colts & Geldings, 955m 🟩

‍

Thought there were 3 leading chances in this and I found it terribly hard to split them. 

‍

In no particular order, they are #1 ALPHA ONE ($3), #7 KEYSBOROGH ($5) & #8 PRADO ($7).

‍

#1 ALPHA ONE comes south of the border, from a stable who do it better than anyone in the country (The Snowdens). 

‍

His two wins this preparation have been very impressive, yet wayward..... 

‍

Will the tight turning circuit of Mooney Valley, going the opposite way bring him unstuck!? Or maybe it'll be the making of him!? 

‍

Good stable, Good Jockey (D.Lane), Good gate.... All positives. ✅✅✅

‍

#7 KEYSBOROGH is a very well bred youngster, from another very good stable (especially with juveniles)

‍

He hasn't been let off the chain in his jump outs to date, which isn't anything unusual from the stable, but he's a stylish mover this colt and he wouldn't be here if he wasn't ready to run a big one on debut!?

‍

#8 PRADO was a $1.40 favorite on debut and beaten, but far from disgraced. He was then immediately spelled..  

‍

His two jump outs this time in leading into this first up run have been full of merit and looks quite forward for this.... He looks a definite pace influence in the race.

🟩 RACE 3, 2YO fillies, 955m 🟩

Similiar to the previous 2YO race, I think we can narrow this race down to 3 leading chances. AGAIN, I found it very difficult to split them....

‍

In no particular order, they are #4 WRITTEN SWOOSH ($2.8), #7 WINNERTAKESALL ($9) & #11 SHE'S AMORE ($7) who's on debut.

‍

#4 WRITTEN SWOOSH was fantastic on debut and at her one and only start last prep, when making strong ground behind Miss Roseiano in the G3 Blue Diamond Preview. 

‍

Her most recent jump out at Moe was good strong work and she looks to have grown and turn into a lovely looking filly this time in.....!?

‍

I'm sure whatever she does here, she will improve on 2nd up, but it'd be foolish to write her off first up here.

‍

#WINNERTAKESALL comes from exceptional juvenile training operation in the Snowdens. We have spoken enough about there record when bringing them south of the border. Recent jump outs have been very good!!! 

‍

#11 SHE'S AMORE looks a ready made 2YO from the Peter Moody stable..  She looks pacy and her most recent jump out over 750m was exceptional...  (Especially the final 150m of her work)...  She might be pretty smart this girl!?

🟩 RACE 7, 3YO HCP 1600m 🟩

#1 PRIX DE TURN ew ($12).

‍

Happy to speck the class horse in the race here in PRIX DE TURN each way at big odds.

‍

Yes, he has a big weight, yes he will be better for the run, yes he's better on firmer surfaces, but let's not forget he's a G2 winner at this track and he's also had 3 solid jump outs in preparation for this first up run...

‍

He also isnt harshly weighted, when you take into account Stockdale will take 2kgs off his back, getting him Into the race with 60kgs.

‍

He ran some crackers this horse in the spring last year and with even luck, he's record could read a lot better than what it actually does..

‍

At the $12 currently on offer with the corporates, I think he's a good (1x win, 3x place) type betting proposition in this. Class will take him a long way against these.

Good race for the 2 & 3YO's here in the LIGHTNING STAKES.

‍

#6 SCORCHED EARTH is a little beauty and especially on the fresh side.  She looks to have found a lovely race here first up to add a bit of black type to her page..

‍

Her most recent jump out was nice work and just what you would want to see leading into a race like this first up.

‍

#1 KALLOS is a smart colt from the Goldolphin stable. 

‍

He's had 3 jump outs in preparation for this first up run and I thought he's most recent one at Flemington was very good, when going to the line under double wraps with Damien Oliver in the saddle ..  Key player in this..

‍

#3 MAGIC MAX ($34) is the blowout chance in the race and shouldn't be left out Quin-Trif etc. He seems to excel fresh this horse..  

‍

He bolted in first up last prep at this track, before being one of the sickest beats of all time 2nd up at Caulfield... He can win.

This horse was only beaten 0.8 lens last start in B78 grade at Flemington behind a smart 3YO Squid Game.  

‍

He drops significantly in grade here, back to B68 grade against a different class of animal.

‍

3 starts back he made a mess of similiar opposition that he faces in this, in the same grade (B68).

‍

A repeat of that type of run, or his past run at Flemington, sees him the one to CLEARLY beat here.
