Jig's BETU Racing Preview - January 21 & 22

🇦🇺 FLEMINGTON FRIDAY 🇦🇺

🟥 RACE 1

No8 MADAME DU GAST each way ($5.5). 

3YO filly on debut.

She has jumped out super a couple of times now in recent weeks and was given a quiet jump out on Monday in preparation for this first up test in town.

She has drawn ideally in Barrier 12 up the straight and she also gets a very handy 2kg claim with talented young apprentice Matty Cartwright booked to ride.

With only 55kgs to carry,  she gets 5.5kgs off the top weight in this and she looks extremely well weighted to go close in this.

🟥 RACE 2

1200m, 3YO B64.  

No3 PLACE OF GOLD*** win ($3.5)

We identified him from the jump outs early days and on debut he delivered quite arrogantly (bless him).

On that occasion he sat 4/5 wide without cover and beat them impressively. 

He draws ideally in gate 8 here up the straight, at more or less level weights. 

He looks a very straight forward horse this guy and I envisage the straight course posing no problems to his racing style.

🇦🇺 MOONEY VALLEY SATURDAY 🇦🇺

🟥 RACE 1

No1 UNFLINCHING win ($2.2)  & Quinella with no5 DUTCHY OF SAVOY. 

Looks a race in two for the opener at Mooney Valley on Saturday with the returning 3YO colt UNFLINCHING taking on the talented filly/impressive first up winner in DUTCHY OF SAVOY. 

Only a small field should really work in the favor of both horses in this and I think if UNFLINCHING can get across from gate 4 and get a little breather mid race, he will accelerate quickly and take a power of running down! He was ultra impressive at his first two career starts..

DUTCHY OF SAVOY has raced in decent company throughout her short racing career to date and she made a mess of them first up at Sandown, indicating that she has come back in very good fettle this time in.... 

Hard to see these two not fighting out the finish!
